Personal Relationships and Business
One of the cornerstones of Co-Active Coaching is addressing the client’s whole life–not just the business aspects. If I sense interference from a client’s partner, family member or other outside force I acknowledge it and bring it to the table.
Read about a recent conversation I had with a client about her mother-in-law. Even though it appeared this relationship had nothing to do with her business, it was impacting her energy level in every way. When she took a stand, she could immediately feel the freedom in that decision and all of the possibilities it opened up for her. Now she’s free to take action to move her business forward.
Daily Practices to Stay Positive
A friend and colleague recently asked me in an email how I’ve kept a grounded and positive mindset during uncertain times. She said, “I would love to hear more about this in your blog and newsletter, as I think we can all benefit from hearing a positive and optimistic approach when facing uncertain times.”
You can read my entire reply on my blog but let me share some of my daily practices:
Write a gratitude list. (See my example.)
- Make outbound calls when I’m afraid.
- Be of service to someone else.
- Listen to anyone else’s struggles lifts me out of my own.
- Stick to my schedule for the day and stay with myself.
- Daily meditation and prayer
- Journaling–a place to put the fears so I don’t carry them around in my head.
What are you doing to keep a positive mindset? Please share your ideas.
